Sadie Scheffer dropped out of an engineering program at MIT and followed her college crush Jesse to San Francisco in 2009. When things didn’t go as planned, Sadie taught herself how to bake with gluten-free ingredients in order to impress Jesse, who was newly gluten-intolerant. 2 years later, Sadie launched Bread SRSLY to share her GF sourdough bread with the Bay Area and beyond, and today the company employs 18 people, including Jesse, who is now Sadie’s husband.
